What is that?

In the process of designing a sticker for Racetrack Routings, I ended up really liking how the design solved the problem of the Great Lakes—by cutting line lines around the 49° parallel and imagining the lakes as a little cluster of severe doglegs and one-shoters. Not that the US or Canada really get accurate treatment—the borders on the abstract. But like a good Racetrack Routing, it suggests so many ports of call with classic courses: Chicagoland, BC, Oregon, Coastal California, Scottsdale, Louisiana, Gulf Coast Florida, Long Island, the Maritimes and so on. So it ended up being a concept of its own.
